For googlers

This is an odd posting as it is neither in Swedish nor about the health of my cat, strictly speaking. But I was e-mailed by a foreign breeder who found this blog but did not understand it. Only what cat I was describing and that it had something to do with the hereditary disease HCM. And I could confirm her fear of course (as my swedish readers already know)

So this post is only to make the knowledge of Tamlins disease allegible not only to swedes as I do not know all of Tamlins offspring or owners. This posting will be searchable on search engines.

Rusans Tamlin has been diagnosed with HCM. He was diagnosed in may of 2007 and has given HCM-positive offspring. Tamlin himself is doing ok but has been given a "severe" diagnose in januari of 2008 and is medicated. People requesting his scanning-results will be e-mailed those. The information about Tamlins disease is of course public and can be found in PawPeds. And since the question about him not being scanned before breeding has been raised, I ask you to remember that Tamlin was born in 1999 - before scanning was done in a structured fashion as far as I know. Furthermore, I myself have not used Tamlin for breeding, but bought Tamlin after his retirement. I went public with his results as soon as I myself knew of his illness.
